Kaden is a sexy hockey player, when he is out he and Laney meet and lets say instant attraction and one hot night is shared. With everything going on they agree to keep things under the rug. But the past never stays hidden and when it comes back Laney goes back into hiding again. Kaden is broken and will not let her go and finds ways to find the woman who has got under his skin.
Ohh this book is full of emotions, danger, twists, secrets, suspense, and romance.
Great hockey romance with a great plot. Kaden meets a woman he can’t seem to get enough of. Then out of nowhere she disappears. He’s not sure what’s going on. She never revealed anything about her self. Delaney is the woman Kaden is obsessed with. She can’t get to close her past is right in her heels. Escaping her ex is the upmost importance. Will fate bring those two back together?
Kaden is that intense, all-in, heart-on-fire kind of hero who doesn’t just fall, he freefalls. The way he becomes obsessed with Delaney, the way he senses there’s something wrong and still chooses her every single time? I was gone. Completely feral for this man. Protective, devoted, relentless, and somehow still tender. The “she’s mine even when she won’t tell me why” energy is off the charts.
And Delaney. Oh my god. She is not weak. She is not careless. She is surviving. Living in the shadows, carrying fear like a second skin, loving Kaden while knowing loving him could destroy them both. Her secrets hurt. Her choices hurt. But they make sense. Every step she takes feels heavy and dangerous, and the tension of waiting for everything to explode had my stomach in knots.

I kept thinking “okay surely it’ll calm down now” and it NEVER DID. The romance burns hot, but the danger simmers underneath every scene, making everything sharper and more intense.
And when fate finally stops letting Delaney run? When Kaden realizes just how deep this goes and still doesn’t back down? I was a mess. This is ride-or-die love. The kind where walking away isn’t an option anymore. The kind that feels earned through fear, separation, longing, and sheer stubborn devotion.
Playmaker is emotional, suspenseful, addictive, and wildly romantic. It made my heart race, ache, and swell all at once. I inhaled it, thought about it when I wasn’t reading it, and immediately wanted to reread my favorite scenes. If you love protective heroes, high-stakes danger, and a love that refuses to stay hidden, this book delivers HARD. 💥📚💙
This was a great read. Author very engaging with reader Suspenseful. . Woman on the run from her ex political boyfriend trying to hide in the shadows and meets a hockey player and people go missing. Can’t wait to read the others in this series.
